Student Leadership
The Monticello-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce’s Student Leadership Program is designed to inspire and equip the next generation of community leaders. Open to high school students, this program provides hands-on experiences, mentorship, and valuable leadership training. Participants will explore local government, businesses, and community organizations while developing skills in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Through interactive sessions and service projects, students will gain a deeper understanding of how they can make a positive impact in their community.
The Judson Freeman Fund
The Judson Freeman Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor the life and legacy of Judson S. Freeman (March 24, 1980 – January 14, 2024), a Monticello native whose spirit of service, leadership, and community upliftment made a deep and lasting impact on Jefferson County and beyond.

Judson believed deeply in helping others find purpose, grow as leaders, and contribute to the community. In that spirit, this scholarship fund celebrates young people who demonstrate leadership, community engagement, and a commitment to lifting up others. Recipients of the Judson Freeman Memorial Scholarship are not only rewarded for academic excellence, but for character, service, and the potential to follow Judson’s example in building a better Monticello-Jefferson County.

The Monticello-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce is proud to partner with the Freeman family and local supporters in awarding this scholarship to outstanding Junior Leadership graduates. The Fund helps ensure that Judson’s legacy of hope, encouragement, and civic responsibility continues through future generations.
